|
Only individuals with a current valid medical license granted by a specified government-approved professional association or a government agency are authorized to practice medicine. Medical Licenses are not granted automatically to all graduates with medical degrees. A medical school graduate must receive a medical license to practice medicine, a procedure that usually requires testing, or examinations by a state medical board. The medical license is the documentation of authority to practice medicine within a certain state. The purpose of medical licenses is to protect health care consumers using licensing and regulation of physicians, surgeons, and certain allied health care professions and through enforcement to promote access to quality medical care through the medical licensing functions. All of Air Ambulance Network’s medical staff holds current medical licenses. All air ambulance providers are required to have medical licenses; these licenses are sometimes called inter-facility transfer licenses. The individual states Emergency Medical Transport (EMS) agency often issues and administrates the required licenses. It is always a good idea to ask for a copy of all current licenses whenever talking to a medical transport company. Air Ambulance Network is a fully licensed medical transport company and has been since 1971. Air Ambulance Network operates under the State of Florida Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services, as an Inter-facility Air Ambulance service for Basic (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS). |
